Halliday Wine Companion

"Broodier than a mother hen. Coal, damp earth, reduced blackberry and sweet boysenberry flavours sulk and seduce in equal measure. Grainy tannin moves slowly but inexorably through the mouth. Hurry? Not on your nelly. This has a long road ahead and it'll perform in its own sweet time. Quality is upper echelon.”

Viticulture

Viticulture

The 2010 Journal was matured for twenty-four months primarily in a seasoned French oak vat with the balance maturing in new French oak barrels. Maturation in larger vats enables the rich tannins to soften and complex over time while ensuring the individual characteristics of the vineyard are centre stage.
