The Winemaker's Selection range allows for experimentation with very special parcels. This range gives our winemakers the opportunity to showcase finer, elegant wines, crafted from the best parcels in our Barossa Valley vineyards. A member favourite is our Winemaker’s Selection Fiano, which marries Italian style with rich Barossa flavours.
“For Winemaker’s Selection, it’s often that I have very small amounts of fruit to work with, generally from a single vineyard, and is only released in those exceptional vintages. I make this wine to reflect where it comes from, considering the history of the specific vineyard,” explains Alex MacKenzie, Saltram Chief Winemaker.
“It’s not a wine that you can particularly find everywhere, due to the small amounts we make – that’s what makes it special. The wine needs to be a standout and have that interest factor from a wine taster’s perspective, and most importantly, the wine needs to be tasty.”
The combination of unique vineyards, Angaston’s mineral-rich soils and the area’s Mediterranean climate produces fruit with the essence of Saltram – richness, intensity and character.
